Amal, DRAIN AID’s founder and CEO, is a woman in her late 50’s. Hard work, perseverance and perfectionism are the core values she shares with her co-workers.
Her first job was as a flight attendant, a carrier she couldn’t combine with a family life. After her two daughter graduated she felt ready to start her own business in the drain-cleaning field with the support of her family.
It was a challenge for a woman, nevertheless, her determination gave birth to the company in 2004.
After some ads in newspapers, she drove her private car with some start up equipment and a helper and accomplished few jobs. The increase in demand encouraged her to take her business to another level. She travelled to the UK and USA to purchase bigger machines and undertook trainings and workshops. Today, Drain Aid includes four working vans and ten employees she trained. Challenging a men’s field of work was a given, thanks to Amal’s social and friendly approach and communication skills as well as her management expertness. Obstacles, similarly to blocked drains, are never seen as deadlocks, Amal is always motivated by the challenges inherent to her job which she overcomes and treats with fluidity and ease!
In 2018, Amal became a finalist of the Brilliant Lebanese Awards by BLC Bank.
