International Engagement
  • BLC Bank is the first member from MENA in the Global Banking Alliance for Women, the first in the region as well to be part of its Governing Board, and since September 2015 was voted Chair of the Board. It is an active member in terms of sharing its knowledge through the GBA mentorship program, the GBA All-Stars Academy as well as by hosting study tours.

  • BLC Bank became the first financial institution from the MENA to commit to the UN Women/UN Global Compact – Women’s Empowerment Principles, considering them an essential guideline to any successful business, to promote gender equality and create a fair working environment. BLC Bank participates every year in the Global UN WEPs Event to promote gender Equality, share best practice and provide recommendations for other institutions to embrace this change and reduce the gender gap.

  • BLC Bank has become a reference in the MENA and has been invited to international and local conferences to serve as a case study and share best practices, spreading its impact to global levels, such us: Dubai, New York, Washington, Frankfurt, Tanzania, Tunisia, Istanbul, Colombia and Brazil.

  • By carrying out study tours to IFC and GBA members, BLC Bank has influenced the creation of a multitude of women empowerment programs all over the world (Latin America, Asia, Africa and Middle East)

  • BLC Bank became a global benchmark, with both IFC and GBA finalizing case studies with BLC Bank as a reference and best practice for implementing a women’s market program.

  • BLC Bank is the first and only bank to have launched a Business and Entrepreneurship Award since 2009: the Brilliant Lebanese Awards and has successfully carried on since then.
